Tackling homelessness is a key priority in Cartrefi Conwy’s new five-year strategic plan which was produced with the input of tenants, staff, board members and partner organisations, including Conwy County Borough Council.

The council have commissioned  eight one-bedroom eco homes in Old Colwyn, Conwy, with the timber frames being manufactured off-site.

The energy costs will be 80 per cent cheaper than traditionally-built homes of a similar size.

Another benefit is that all these developments will also provide training and job opportunities in the community enabling tenants to work alongside skilled joiners to gain construction skills and experience.
