National Apprenticeship Week – Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan, from Factory to site …
During National Apprentice Week, we welcomed pupils from Ysgol Emry ap Iwan to our Creating Enterprise Timber Solutions factory in Rhyl, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at how sustainable homes are made.
The visit began with a factory tour led by Adam – Production & Quality Assurance Manager and Dewi – Design & Compliance Manager, who explained how we use modern methods of construction to create energy-efficient homes.
Pupils learned how modular homes and timber buildings are designed and manufactured with sustainability at their heart, while also creating local employment opportunities.
The pupils then travelled on to our construction site on Towyn Road, Pensarn, Abergele, where they were able to see the fully assembled modular units already forming part of the house structure, demonstrating the benefits of modern, factory-built construction methods. Although the weather was awful, it certainly didn’t dampen their enthusiasm or curiosity, and it was great to see so much interest in how homes are delivered from factory to site.
We’re passionate about supporting our local community. Visits like this allow us to share real-world experiences with local schools, inspire young people, and help build skills for the future workforce.
Our Creating Enterprise Timber Solutions factory currently have a fantastic opportunity – Apprentice Production Operative, providing a fantastic opportunity for someone to start a career in sustainable construction.
